They spent money to make it shitty.
-My wife
I’m an ardent believer in ‘credit where due’, and she literally said this. It came years ago, but every couple months, it’s relevant again. Like this last week, when my neighborhood “HOA” (quotes, on purpose, because it is, based on objective evidence, ceremonial (at best)), had strewn large rocks along part of the entryway road, in the name of “safety”, to prevent people turning around and…wait for it…damaging the grass. But they did so in such a haphazard way, to make it look like a dump truck full of rocks had overturned in slow motion. Oh, and the rocks are 15ft out in the midst of that same grass which still allows all the cars to turn around, which is very “unsafe” for said grass. What about the safety of the grass under those rocks?! The HOA’s results betray their stated objectives.
The point: You’ll see this from time to time, where someone spent a non-trivial amount of money to make something demonstrably worse…which is pretty shitty.
